The following is from Viva Queen D! posted on Cloche Designs.
Y’all! We’ll forever have Georgia on our minds after last week’s personal appearance from Atlanta’s bestselling author and contributing editor of VERANDA, Danielle D. Rollins.
In case you missed it, we posted a Love Letter leading up to her visit. Read it here. Suffice it to say, Danielle, Texas born and bred, is a woman of extraordinary talents who’s making big dreams come true with passion, creativity and true grit.
Danielle’s own dear Dad steered her gorgeous new clothing line across the country for 19 straight hours to our hometown. It was the maiden voyage of her company’s brand new sprinter van! He arrived all smiles last Wednesday on a beautiful April day, and after unloading and unpacking we spent the rest of the afternoon with Danielle and her team enjoying margaritas and nachos on The Argyle veranda.
A two-day trunk show, just in time to shop for Fiesta, began the next morning.
After Thursday’s shopping, Cloche and M Interiors, co-hosted a fabulous cocktail party where our clients and close friends could meet Danielle. As hosts, we each wore ruffled jackets from Danielle’s line in Brunschwig & Fil’s Veral de Belval Madeleine fabric (long ago having graced Marie-Antoinette’s country house), handmade with couture details from exquisite textiles that can only elsewhere be found on Gucci’s runway (Danielle, we will treasure our Madeleine Jackets forever and ever— and ever ♥).
After we delivered our opening remarks, Danielle gave an authentic, inspiring talk about her personal life and how persistence through challenges has led her to extraordinary professional greatness. She inspired everyone with her message about persevering with tenacity and style through all things.
So now let’s get down to the details (our favorite thing)! Our aim was to mark Danielle’s heart with a sentimental, unforgettable memory of San Antonio hospitality. We first commissioned a custom monogram of her initials for the party invitation and cocktail napkins.
The monogram also starred on her cake. A complete surprise to Danielle, who turned 50 a few weeks before, we turned the evening into her belated 50th birthday party. We felt it only fitting that such an important birthday be marked on Texas soil—because you can take the girl out of Texas, but you certainly can’t take Texas out of the girl!
Guests enjoyed mingling with a signature cocktail—none other than Danielle’s own “Rollins Collins” recipe (she’s a trained chef, by the way) from her book Soirée: Entertaining With Style.
We filled our collection of Orlandi Statuary containers with beautiful pink flowers to match pretty pink linens at every turn.
At the end of the presentation we crowned Danielle “The Queen D” with an official proclamation in the spirit of San Antonio’s Fiesta.
Then we sang happy birthday to The Queen D!
Afterwards, Danielle graciously signed her beautiful book for new friends. After our guests departed we ended the evening downstairs over a dinner of famous Argyle chicken chalupas shared among the Rollins team, Cloche, M Interiors and @upthegetup—women lifting each other up.
Our time with Danielle was a privilege and a joy. And, after anticipating her arrival for so many weeks, it was hard to say goodbye when Friday’s shopping ended. Before, we loved her from afar for all she has accomplished, but meeting her was the beginning of a friendship that has left a permanent mark on our #clochegirl hearts. We promised to visit her in Atlanta, and with her next book debuting in late 2019, she promised to return to San Antonio for an encore pre-Fiesta appearance in April of 2020.
Until then, Viva Fiesta and Viva Queen D! Forever may you reign!
Thank you for making our visit incredibly special! XOXO to Cloche and M Interiors from Team DDR! We can’t wait to do it again!
