Newport, Rhode Island
I have gathered some Newport insider favorites to share the best places to dine, visit and explore!
I think my favorite way to experience Newport is by water. There is nothing more relaxing than an afternoon spent boating. The Claiborne Pell Newport Bridge is listed as one of the best Instagram worthy spots in the area!
Newport Vineyards
The Newport Vineyards are one of the places in Rhode Island that make Newport so amazing. You must get a behind the scenes look at the Newport Vineyard’s winemaking process with any of their daily tours!
Mansions
As everyone knows, Newport is known for the storied mansions built during the Gilded Age when the wealthiest American families transformed the City by the Sea into one of the most elegant areas to be. When visiting Newport, touring the famous mansions The Breakers, Chateau-sur-Mer, The Elms, Marble House, Rosecliff, Green Animals, Kingscote, Hunter House, Isaac Bell House and Chepstow are a must! Our insider recommended booking the Holmes and Breakers Mansions special servant tours that offer a history rich experience like no other!

Cliff Walk
Stop by the Newport Creamery to grab a scoop of ice-cream or a divine milkshake and then head straight down Ocean Drive. Go however far you would like, but you will most likely find yourself in awe of the beautiful views making this an all day activity! Take the fam and turn it into a perfect picture opportunity! Maybe it’s a rainy day? An insider shared with us that there is no need to hold back on making your drive and says a rainy day only adds to the beauty making it her favorite time to do it!
Gary Handy Lunch

You could spend an entire day sampling clam chowder! Everyone you ask seems to have a favorite.
The Shack at Dutch Harbor
One of our insider sources said visiting The Shack MUST be on the list while in Rhode Island. Jake Rojas, the chef of the high-end restaurant in Providence named Tallulah on Thames, sets up a shop every summer to sell his in-demand tacos. What started as an experimental pop-up in the upstairs bar of his old restaurant has now become all the rage! Jake Rojas’ cooking is done with pristine and often local ingredients, but not only is the food good, his restaurant location brings a whole experience to the table!
Come taste what all the rave is about! Tallulah's Taqueria at "THE SHACK" 252 Narragansett Ave Jamestown, RI 02835
After you have had your fill of tacos at The Shack you might as well visit the Beaver Tail Lighthouse. Rhode Island’s history continues delight with the third oldest lighthouse in the country. There is plenty to do there—maybe some fishing, having a picnic, climbing the lighthouse or just admiring the views and hanging out around the state park!
Calling all tennis fans! This is the spot for you. The International Tennis Hall of Fame will teach you all about tennis history including the history of some of our all time favorite players!
