I'm so excited to announce that today is the opening of Atlanta Homes & Lifestyles Home for the Holidays Showhouse benefiting the Southeastern Horticultural Society's Children's Learning Gardens and Farms. The house is open Wednesday-Sunday, November 19-December 7. For tickets, please purchase them at www.atlantaholidayhome.com!
Bill and I decorated a cozy gentleman's study in rich chocolates and subtle tweeds and tartan. This sneak peek from our room highlights our vignette which features classic antiques juxtaposed with unique textures (feathers, horn, crystal, a glittery pine cone) and a splash of Tiffany blue for whimsy.
If this look has inspired you, here are some great ideas for your home.
A classic antique chest is a perfect way to display your treasures, with the added benefit of having storage for your linens, cards and entertaining essentials that you like to have close at hand.
18th Century Carved Venetian Wall Mirror
I always love to include mirrors in my rooms - particularly in smaller rooms. They add depth and enhance the sense of space and light.
Bouillotte 4-Light Reading Lamp
Bouillotte Lamp and Tole Shade
Lamps are a terrific way to complement a mirror. They draw the eye up and are a source of light to boost. Lampshades are a perfect way to add a touch of your personality.
Ralph Lauren Celeste Double Old Fashioned
I appreciate the convenience of having libation close at hand to offer company. Displaying your silver and crystal on a tray is a lovely way to have a bar that is both fetching and functional.
For visual texture, I prefer unique patterns. The horn votives and bowl as well as the silvered glass vase help give the space dimension and interest.Soiree Entertaining with Style
I love using books to complete my settings. In this case they are a perfect way to add height to the floral arrangement and are entertaining to peruse when your company has departed!Special thanks to our friends who made this room possible: Ralph Lauren Home, Ralph Lauren Paint, John Matthew Moore, Parc Monceau, Ware & Company, Jane Marsden Antiques Interiors, Circa Lighting, William Word Antiques, Uniques Taxidermy, James Hurley Designs, The Framers on Peachtree, Chris Murphy, Atlanta Premier Upholstery, O'Kelley's Upholstery & Design, Armstrong Relocation, Drexler Shower Door and Custom Glass, Paces Paper, London Trading Company, B.D.
