From being strip searched by airport security to changing in the backseat of taxis, I’ve truly been through it all when it comes to travel. I often spend more time in airports than I do in my own living room! Here are some lessons I’ve learned along the way, and looks I can guarantee are travel tested and approved.
Faux fur Gucci slides feel more like a flop when you’re tripping over yourself trying to run to your flight. Always try the in-flight delicacies, like Diet Coke and pretzels. Carry your own bags–you'll burn calories and maintain your pride. Never be afraid to take some public transport! I wasn’t sure a bus would be the most fabulous method of transportation for my arrival to Southampton, but I took a leap of faith and it wasn’t nearly as painful as you might have thought–partially due to the wine bar on board.
I hardly ever have time between the airport and the office but with this layered look I can stay stylish and comfortable, and even catch up on some much-needed sleep with a luxurious silk eye mask.
Start your vacation before you’ve even landed with a beach read! Sophie Ranald’s hilarious novel, “Sorry, Not Sorry,” offers some sage advice: “When life gives you limes, make margaritas.” Complete your vacation look with a sassy embroidered pouch and floral-print silk crepe de chine wrap skirt.
Why should your outfit have all the fun? Let your luggage stand out with pieces from Bric’s and a catch all tote from The Row. And no one’s ever fully prepared for travel without a sparkling emergency kit with everything from nail polish remover to needle and thread!
