Tabletop Tuesday
Get ready for Labor Day!
Labor Day marks the unofficial end to summer and it's the perfect time to bring out your red, white, and blue decor and all the bar-b-que essentials for one last celebration. I love the striking red, white and blue color scheme because it exhibits a welcoming warmth and celebratory feeling - and I think it deserves more attention throughout the year!
Keep it simple, so it’s easy, breezy and chic. Cut summer’s hydrangea abundance of blooms from your yard, pick up sunflowers at a road side stand or grab bundles of baby’s breath from the grocery store. The most humble or inexpensive things can look so chic when used with an enthusiastic abundance. More is more! When I’m low on a look for a table setting, I like to pull out vintage quilt or even an inexpensive bedspread for a table topper that gives an instantly relaxed and casual vibe and can go straight to the washing machine afterward. Napkins can be pretty or practical or even both when you use French stripe dishcloths or tea towels to stand up to messy bar-b-que. I buy them in bulk and keep a container of them always at the ready.
Whatever you do, make it easy and take a day off laboring for a wonderful Labor Day!
