Tabletop Tuesday
Summer Brunch
Soak up the last bit of summer with your friends and family... its time for brunch!
Brunch is such a wonderful way to entertain with your family or friends. I love taking the time to sit down together to eat and then send the people I love off to their busy days ahead with a good motivating first meal of the day. Another thing I love about brunch is that the ingredients are familiar and easy to find. The recipes are fast and on the table in much less time than other meals take to prepare. Now who doesn’t love something easy and relaxed? So let's take advantage of summer mid-morning weather and throw a brunch.
Nothing has to be fancy about brunch, save that for dinner. Grab a fun tablecloth, I absolutely love color and mixing patterns and textures, as well as using items in creative ways. In the past I’ve used a shower curtain, fabric scrap or a bedspread to make a great last-minute table covering in a pinch! When choosing a spot to have your brunch think about having ample shade so your guests don’t become uncomfortable in this summer heat as well a visually pleasing location with beautiful trees, flowers, and other greenery. When hosting friends or family outdoors I prefer to blend indoor elements even if it's bringing my linen and dinnerware outside. I also like to use relaxed elements like house plants or woven chargers to blend the inside out. Create a theme by bringing in little hints to make the brunch seem fun and exciting. Don't forget to make a self-serve buffet for your guests because you can't assume everyone is a morning person while hosting!

Don't forget brunch isn't brunch without Mimosas, Bloody mary's, and fresh squeezed orange juice!
